The BBC legend's death has been confirmed by a family friend. Bough met Nesta Howells while he was completing his national service and they married after he left the army in 1959. They had three sons: David, Stephen and Andrew. Nesta stayed in the relationship after the exposés that affected Bough's later career. From 1994, he was a regular member of a Windsor-based choir, the Royal Free Singers.
