I found sliding it into 3rd and then out and sliding into 1st made it go into 1st straight away no problems and when the engine warmed it was fine. ... WebJan 5, 2011 · Berlingo van, hasn't been driven much over the Christmas break, went back to work today, and the gearbox seems really stiff. Done 130miles today, so figured that if it was the cold weather then it would have warmed up and been back to normal now. Is it terminal or should i get it back into the garage, it's done 50k if that helps. my R400.
