The primary binding target of phenylephrine is the α-adrenergic receptor with the highest affinity for the α1 -receptor. Phenylephrine is an α 1 selective agonist but may affect β-receptors in high doses. WebPhenylephrine Hydrochloride is an alpha-1 adrenergic receptor agonist indicated for increasing blood pressure in adults with clinically important hypotension resulting primarily from vasodilation, in such settings as septic shock or anesthesia.
